Walters went to Bethany College in West Virginia. He had taken a communications class and a press law class which he feels helped him the most.
“Until you get into the field and cut the body open, you don’t know what it is like,” Walters said, reflecting on how journalism is.
“It was exciting and I had a chance to be on television,” Walters said, explaining why he joined the journalism profession.
His most embarrassing moment was his first interview when he had to interview someone who cleaned up elephants in a circus who barely spoke English. Walters has many favorite moments, but his favorite moment was when he was at the movie premiere “Panes”. A big event for him that he attended was the Democratic Convention when President Obama was nominated in 2008.
“Life changes every day,” Walters said explaining what he has taken from his job. Walters said his job allows him to see the levels of life from rich to poor and teaches him to appreciate life.
“I’m very blessed to have this job. It’s like a roller coaster ride.”
