New members for the National Honor Society were inducted Nov. 8 in the Little Theater.
As a new rule implemented this year, inductees consisted solely of juniors and seniors because of the large number of sophomores eligible to take part in NHS.
“If we have sophomores, we have a lot of people,” President Kshitij Kumar said. “A lot of people means a lot of applications, a lot of paper processing, a lot of work.”
Kumar was selected as president of NHS when he was a junior last year and his work has resulted in a group success that culminated in the award of the 2012 Youth Group of the Year Award.
“We put in the most number of hours, we did the best work and we were recognized by the community itself for the excellence in our community service,” Kumar said.
