Halloween was celebrated in school today by a small part of the Seahawk students, some adorning witches’ hats, cosplay gear, and zombie blood smears.
Halloween originally began 2,000 years ago with the Celts, who lived in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France.
The Celts celebrated the New Year on Nov. 1 because it marked the end of summer and the end of the harvest. They believed that on New Year’s Eve, the line between the living and the dead was blurred and ghosts returned to the earth.
Eventually, this day was called All Hallows’ Eve and then shortened Halloween.
