The annual South Lakes homecoming parade marched down Colt Neck Rd. and South Lakes Dr. on Oct. 13, showing off Pixar themed floats and showering children with candy.
The freshmen were the first class to appear in the parade, with students impersonating coral and riding on their Finding Nemo themed float.
The sophomores followed next, decked out in Ratatouille gear. Walking with a group of rats and chef hat wearing students, the sophomore float depicted a scene from a French café, complete with smoking pots courtesy of dry ice.
Juniors had the iconic movie Toy Story for their float and included an array of characters from the movie, including Woody, Jessie, Buzz Light Year, Barbie, and Ken.
Senior brought up the rear of the float with Up. Their characters included old man Carl, the adventurous Russel, and a live yellow retriever. Sitting behind these characters was a six foot tall Kevin bird made of chicken wire.
Between all the class floats were students representing the South Lakes community, which included the dance club, homecoming royalty, JROTC, a variety of elementary schools, and many more.
The parades route began at the Hunters Woods shopping center and ended at the South Lakes High School, a distance of a little over two miles.
