Junior Abigail Clark has turned a fun past time into an after school profit, creating and selling small charms she made herself. Her love of culinary arts and her artistic talent comes together in her original charm designs.
Why did you decide to make these charms?
I’ve always been good at making small charm and one day I thought, oh, I could make something out of these, because they’re pretty useless as food. Plus there are other charms like this in stores and they’re so overpriced.
How did you create them?
I used model magic, monofilament allusion chord, and baby pins as a way to attach them to other things. I also used cute beads as decoration, which you can find cheap in stores.
What was your inspiration?
I love culinary arts and normal arts, so I made things like food charms. I also make things that my friends like, like television characters. It’s mostly cute things.
How are the sales doing?
So far I’ve sold over five so the sales are going well. I wasn’t expecting to even sell two, so I’m glad they’re popular. I’m mostly worried about getting too much work because if I work to much it will stop being fun.
