Many viewers are underwhelmed after Jack Harlow’s Thanksgiving Halftime Show at the Lions v.s. Packers game. Fans are bashing everything about the performance from the set design to his stiff, awkward dance moves.
The Thanksgiving Halftime Show has been a tradition in the NFL since 1997, and is incredibly well watched because it airs on the holiday. Many celebrities have performed at the show such as Ellie Goulding, Destiny’s Child and Pitbull. The halftime show has never disappointed…until now. Harlow walked out of what looked like a paper mâché igloo. Harlow’s life long friend, Urban Wyatt walked out behind him, and was lip syncing Harlow’s hit song “What’s Poppin.’” Wyatt lip-synced the song, then disappeared and never came back to the performance.
One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, said “I spent the first minute of Jack Harlow’s halftime performance wondering whether or not his hype man was just a fan who made it onto the field.” The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders then walked on the field to dance to “INDUSTRY BABY.” The cheerleaders danced on a white tarp that was supposed to look like snow. However, fans claim that the “snow” looked like someone was about to paint a bedroom.
It did not help that the home team was down 23-6, so the fans were already unamused. Fans inside of the stadium claim that they couldn’t even hear what Harlow was saying. The NFL took the video of his performance off of their Youtube channel after an overload of hate comments, with people even saying that the performance “ruined the holiday.”
Harlow has yet to respond to the negative comments about his show, but stated that the show is dedicated to his late grandfather that passed away during a Lions game in 1960. Harlow has moved on from the event and is performing the No Place Like Home Tour in Kentucky.
