Rocksteady Games has dropped the release date for their new game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady’s game was pushed back nearly 4 years, as the original release date was August 2nd. This game is set to release on Friday, February 2, 2024. People have high hopes for the game as this is Rocksteady’s first game in the gotham world since the great Arkham Knight. Arkham Knight was the last game in the Arkham Batman trilogy. There were four games in the trilogy, but only three of the games were made by Rocksteady.
Arkham Asylum kicked off the saga when putting Batman in Arkham Asylum in order to defeat the Joker. The game received a 9.3/10 rating from IGN . After that, Arkham City topped Arkham Asylum by receiving a 9.5/10 on IGN and was awarded as game of the year. Rocksteady struggled to release the next game with a reasonable release date, so they let Warner brothers Montreal take other production. The game was not as well received as it received a 7.8/10 on IGN and people were not satisfied with the Warner Brothers game engine. However, Rockysteady came back and released Arkham Knight which truly sent the saga off in the right direction, but left people craving more Batman games.
On October 21st, 2022, Warner Bros. Montreal launched Gotham Knights which had Batman’s successors: Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood. This game received atrocious reviews among critics, and IGN rated it a 5/10. It was nothing else even like its predecessors which attained higher standards and set those enthralling expectations for its playerbase. A tremendous amount of care was embellished into these games, giving it a nostalgic value players resonate with.
On October 21, 2022 Warner Brothers Montreal released Gotham Knights which featured Batman’s successor, Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood. The game was horrible and received terrible reviews with 5/10 on IGN as it was nothing like the Arkham games. There was as much care put into the game and people picked up on it.
People have high hopes for the Sucide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game will feature characters from the iconic DC Universe. On their instagram they have released gameplay and trailers. The game features the same gameplay format as Gotham Knights, as there are four playable characters, including: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. People are worried as the gameplay does look similar to Gotham Knights but the game is still in its beta and it is also not being produced by Warner Brother Montreal. Hopefully the game lives up to the hype and has the same appeal as the Arkham Games did.
