South Park has been renewed for a new season, and fans are excited.
As of recent, a trailer was uploaded in early April, and plenty of contemporary, dystopian events are foreshadowed.
Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker typically draw inspiration from current events, societal trends, and even their own personal experiences. Likewise, the show’s signature derisive, edgy, sophomoric humor isn’t departing anytime soon. The television show is recognized for its satire takes on political issues and so-on-so-forth.
The trailer references the series’ namesake film, Bigger, Longer, & Uncut, where American-Canadian relations are strained and undergoing war. There is also a segment where P. Diddy is chasing Starvin’ Marvin and the boys in space. Also, Kyle Broflovski is ill with symptoms of the Bird Flu. And Butters attempts to navigate air traffic mayhem and mitigate collisions despite the chaos among his colleagues.
Various chaotic scenes were shown within a short period of time, but fans have come up with their own speculations. Albeit, some fans are disappointed how short previous seasons have been, but are eager to watch this new season regardless of the delay. Plenty are sitting on the edge of their seats, anticipating drama and suspense, like never before.
The official number of seasons has not been confirmed, but it is widely believed that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a contract extending to 2027. So far, over 300 episodes have been produced and 7 specials were made, including a movie. Episode quantity varies per season, usually most seasons average 10 episodes.
Season 27 premieres on July 9th, on Comedy Central, streaming on Paramount+.
