Jesus Guerrero, celebrity hairstylist known for working with celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Katy Perry and J.Lo, passed away while on a business trip with J.Lo in Dubai. The sudden death of the 34 year old shocked the media across the nation.
Friends of Guerrero have told the media that he seemed visibly unwell upon arriving in the Middle East, so ill that they advised Guerrero to hold off on his work and to recover. As a celebrity hairstylist, it was difficult for him to step back, especially since his role on the trip was to style J.Lo’s hair. delaying work would have been challenging not just for him, but also for his high-profile client.
Although Guerreo’s cause of death was never announced, speculations instantly arose that it was due to a mystery illness. Guerrero’s sister, Gris Guerrero, reached out to U.S weekly and announced that Guerrero made the 16-hour flight from Dubai to his home in Los Angeles but was ‘forced’ by his roommate to seek further treatment at a hospital upon his return. It was after this when he died, Gris said.
“We have been able to track every one of his steps, but we don’t know what got him sick or what was [the] sickness,” said Gris
In the aftermath of his death, various controversies have struck the media. With J.Lo’s past history, including the various scandals she has been involved in, people have begun to question the authenticity of her reaction.
The controversy struck when it was announced that Kylie Jenner, one of Guerreros top clients and close friends, was the one who was paying for all of the transportation fees of not only his body but all of his personal belongings back to his home in Houston. With J.Lo being his last client and the last person with him, people have been taken aback by the fact that she has not covered any of the fees and has only posted a short paragraph on social media regarding his passing. In short, J.Lo was accused of having abandoned him in his final days while he accompanied her on a trip to Dubai, however, Guerrero’s sister clarified the situation.
According to Gris, Guerrero had already been sick, prior to the Dubai trip. J.Lo and the rest of her team urged Guerrero to go to the hospital and seek medical help, but Guerrero refused.
“Everyone on his team did everything they could to get him to the doctors because he wasn’t well. They told him he wasn’t going to work, that he should see a doctor and rest. And he wanted to go home,” said Gris of his brother’s visit to the UAE. The 55 year old artist expressed her condolences on social media, calling Guerrero “kind, gentle and loving, but very powerful.”
With the controversy cleared up, Jesus’s family continues to investigate his sudden death and the reason for his rapid deterioration during the trip.
