Ms Lynch is our school social worker her job is vital to students growth. As a social worker she feels that her job is to “support students’ social and emotional well-being and to help them be successful in and out of school, and for some students, provide direct counseling services and help families with a variety of resources.”
As a social worker her job goes beyond helping students just inside of school. Her resources and responsibilities reach not just students but families at home as well. Her job plays a vital role in helping students from all backgrounds achieve success.
Social workers are extremely important to many students in many different ways and Ms. Lynch has her own personal experiences. A social worker helped her throughout her childhood years, which inspired her to become one. Her background makes her an exceptional fit for her job.
She feels that her job is important because “High schoolers need extra support because they’re dealing with a variety of issues that can interfere with school.”
Many students can relate to this statement because they aren’t just students. Each student has a personal life outside of school, which in many cases needs to be put first.
Something Ms.Lynch would like students to know is that “their are people at South Lakes which are here to support students no matter what they are going through.”
A message that she wants all students to be aware of is that she is here to support the South Lakes community. For some students, going to their school counselor or talking to a teacher is not enough and Ms. Lynch is prepared to help fill that space as needed.
