With the holidays approaching, there are many opportunities to celebrate with family and friends at local holiday parades. Here are some nearby holiday parades to visit:
Reston Town Center Holiday Parade:
This annual parade will be held on November 29, 2024 in the Reston Town Center, starting at 11:00 AM on Market Street. The festivities will continue until 7:00 PM with Santa Claus, ice skating, train and carriage rides, and the tree lighting. Stores will also be open for shopping as per usual.
The SLHS band will be performing in the Reston Town Center Holiday Parade, playing Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
“People should come to watch the parade to support the South Lakes High School Marching Band,” said Sophomore Band member, Jaayla Davidson.
Davidson mentioned that she was excited to participate in the parade.
“At the Reston Town Center Parade people just come to see us so they’re cheering and it’s nice,” Davidson added.
Leesburg Annual Christmas and Holiday parade:
On December 14, 2024, Leesburg will hold their Christmas and Holiday Parade throughout Historic Downtown Leesburg. The parade will start in Ida Lee Park at 6:00 PM and will end on King Street. Santa and friends will be featured and the parade will be free to the public.
Christmas in Middleburg Parade:
The Christmas in Middleburg Parade will take place on December 7th, 2024. The Middleburg Hunt Parade will begin at 11:00 AM with the Community Parade starting at 2:00 PM. Viewers must pay for parking, however there are 3 options for purchasing parking, Priority Parking, Premier parking and VIP Parking. There will also be parking accommodations for handicap viewers. Priority Parking is about a mile from the parade, but shuttles can be taken into town from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Premier Parking will be $60 per car and feature the same shuttles. VIP parking is $100 per car and will also have shuttle service at the same time frame. You can purchase parking here.
The parade often features a corgi parade as well as a fox hound parade to feature the town’s working dogs. The parade also includes Santa, bands, and floats.
