MGA Entertainment has announced a hot collaboration with Paramount’s Mean Girls franchise. Mean Girls, screenwritten by the clever Tina Fey, is a story told around clique hierarchies and maneuvering the high school social scene.
Cady Heron, is a homeschooled fish out of water; Heron moved to Evanston, Illinois from Africa, to an all-American school, where she has to be swift to catch cues. The screenplay also embellished Fey’s experiences too. The movie is inspired by the book, ‘Queen Bees and Wannabes,’ offering advice to parents on how to support their teens.
Amidst Cady’s initial naïvety, she quickly befriends the misfits, Janis and Damien, who take her under their wing in North Shore. The Plastics are a sensational clique, as Damien quotes, “They’re like teen royalty.” Janis assigns Cady to sabotage and take revenge on Regina George, the Queen Bee of the school, to satisfy grudges.
Since the film’s release in 2004, the franchise has grossed over $130 million worldwide, receiving timeless positive acclaim. Mean Girls is a pop culture phenomenon, recognized for its witty humor, iconic characters, and design.
To commemorate the release, MGA Entertainment and Paramount Pictures have decided to release Bratz × Mean Girls dolls. The announced collection was met with excitement. Oftentimes, these dolls are sought after for expensive retail prices.
Doll collectors are disappointed, arguing that the re-used shoe molds should be original. On the other hand, one may be indifferent and inclined to view the dolls in a positive light.
Regardless, the dolls are limited release and accessories are included, each box is inspired by the Burn Book. Overall, the collection is a faithful replica of Mary Jane Fort’s costume design work.
Mean Girls is also recognized for its fashion psychology as well, especially Cady, who undergoes a transformation throughout the film’s run.
All four dolls starting from October 3rd — 31st, will be released. Doll prices vary, corresponding to retailers and distributors. Mean Girls will be re-released in theaters to celebrate its anniversary. So don’t miss out on www.Bratz.com.
