Kylie Nguyen (Senior) and Zoe Nguyen (Freshman) are sisters on the Girls Varsity tennis team here at South Lakes. Kylie is ranked #2 and her sister Zoe is ranked #4 in the school. The sisters have helped the tennis team crawl up to 3rd in the district this season. The two of them have been playing together since Zoe started playing tennis.
“She probably hit me in the face a couple of times,” Zoe said when sharing some of her memories when playing with her sister.
Although they play together at school, the duo helps each other way beyond the courts. “My favorite thing is that I always have someone to go to,” Kylie says.
Zoe adds, “When we get home we can talk about our games.”
Playing together since the beginning of Zoe’s tennis career has shaped her into the tennis player she is today. The sisters play together and against each other during and outside of practice.
“I think we make a pretty good team,” Kylie says, “being a part of the same team and being able to compete together.”
Considering this is Kylie’s last year at South Lakes, she had some words of motivation to give to Zoe. “Keep it up, pick up the team for me when I’m gone.”
