Students light up the night with Seahawk Illumination
The South Lakes Leadership team put together an event that had never been done at South Lakes before, but it’s easy to say that it successfully lit up some faces!
Leadership called their new event “Illumination,” as different clubs joined together to create light displays outside of the building’s front doors. Cars were encouraged to drive by to admire the creative displays and even stop to hear a live band play. Local student rock quartet, Fourth Electric, performed a set at the event, and encouraged everyone to get up on their feet. Everyone danced under the dim glow of a few hundred twinkling lights, and celebrated what it meant to be a community again.
Some of the clubs that offered their creative displays included the Environmental club, JROTC, Kindness Counts, FBLA, NEHS, Cyber Club and of course, the senior class of 2021.
The South lakes student body is thankful for Leadership and each of the participating clubs’ hard work and efforts that brought this event to life. Students hope to see it again next year, for even more illuminated fun!
