Billie Eilish’s “The World’s a Little Blurry” documentary takes you inside her story
Singer Songwriter Billie Eilish released her documentary “The World’s a Little Blurry” on February 26th, 2021 exclusively on AppleTV and in select theatres. The film, directed by R.J Cutler, gives viewers an inside look at her life and how she navigates the struggles of fame and life on the road.
“The World’s a Little Blurry” has been in the works for a couple of years and features many personal moments that Eilish has experienced, such as dating, getting her drivers license and winning five Grammys. Cutler said to Billboard, “While the near two-and-a-half hour long documentary manages to show full-length performance clips, it’s far from a concert film. And though it includes footage of Eilish’s dedicated fans tearing up over their hero, it never feels like a hype reel.”
Billie Eilish is only 19-years-old but has already accomplished what some do in their entire careers. She is the youngest artist to be nominated for all four top Grammy categories, has Platinum singles and also broke the record for most simultaneous hits on Billboard hot 100 among women. Her songs have also been featured in TV shows and movies such as “Thirteen Reasons Why,” and “Euphoria,” “Roma” and “No Time to Die,” the new James Bond movie. All of these amazing accomplishments makes for an interesting movie.
Eilish went from performing at tiny clubs to headlining arena shows in a matter of a couple of years. Her fans look up to her and she inspires many. She is an activist and an advocate for many things such as protecting the environment, Black Lives Matter, equal rights and mental health, and has openly talked about her mental health struggles. Some people think she is dark or goth due to some of her sadder music, or the way she dresses, but she is quite the opposite. In an interview with Gayle King, of CBS Sunday Morning, she said, “Nobody that knows me thinks I am a dark person.” This documentary gives more people the chance to get to know her.
Billie Eilish is truly a light in the world and it’s the anticipation of watching this documentary and waiting to see how far she will go, is exciting.
