QRU? Cornerback Marvin Grunshie discusses the ups and downs of this year’s football season
As the football season draws to a close, senior cornerback Marvin Grunshie reflects on the varsity team.
What is it like to be on a team that has come such a long way from last year?
“It feels good to be on a winning team, since last year didn’t go so well. There was a lot of distractions last year, but this year we’re focused and ready.”
What do you owe your successful season to?
“Coach Taylor’s leadership, without him we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
What can we expect for the Homecoming game against Langley?
“A blowout.”
It must have been frustrating when the referees kept consistently calling flags at the Yorktown game; do you feel their calls were fair or relevant?
“Yes it was frustrating. It was killing our spirits but we didn’t let it get the best of us.”
How does the team motivate each other when there’s discouragement?
“We huddle up, get focused and move onto another play. The past play is in the past.”
What are your goals for this season?
“Get to the second round of playoffs, and go to States.”
