Smartphone application QuizUp has grown in popularity among students within the past few weeks. QuizUp allows users to challenge each other on trivia questions based on hundreds of topics.

Senior Jojo Kidane discovered QuizUp and shared his fondness of the game with many other students.

“Jojo told me to download the game one day during business,” senior Erin Persil said. “Ever since then, I play it whenever I am bored.”

The app also gained popularity among iPhone users, currently ranking third in the top charts in the App Store.

“I downloaded this app because I always download popular games in the app store,” sophomore Brian Diaz said. “I usually play during class when we aren’t doing anything. It’s cool because you can play against all your Facebook friends.”

QuizUp can be played by all ages and has topics ranging from “The periodic Table” to the television show “Family Guy.”

“QuizUp is great because there are so many categories, you never get bored,” Kidane said. “My favorite categories are Big Bang Theory, Taylor Swift, and Harry Potter.”

The app is available for download on the Android Market, Google Play, and App Store.
