Interact Club holds annual Thanksgiving food drive for Seahawks in need
Interact Club’s annual Thanksgiving food drive started on Monday, November 18 and will continue through Friday, November 22.
“Interact is working with the Culinary Arts department to provide Thanksgiving meals to families of South Lakes students,” sophomore Interact Club member Evie Nims said.
Students and teachers are asked to bring in canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, boxed stuffing, and potatoes. Boxes will be in all subschools and the main office. Interact Club members will also be collecting food at the Kiss and Ride student drop-off on Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21.
“Basically, we collect thanksgiving related food items from people in the community and teachers contribute a lot as well,” Interact Club sponsor Emily Wischow said. “Then we sort food based on the size of the family.”
The food drive ensures that everyone in the community has enough to eat over the Thanksgiving holiday and hopefully beyond.
