A well-known book “Life Of Pi” is an Oscar nominated movie directed by Ang Lee. The movie won various awards such as Best Direction, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. The movie describes an Indian boy’s life and the 223 days he spent stranded at sea on a boat with some animals sharing the same little boat with him.
The book is a best seller from 2001. The film has stunning beautiful pictures, including breath taking graphics in various scenes. The film is also offered to the public in 3D. A great job was performed on the actor’s side as well and it is easy to connect with the characters throughout the film.
Most people would think of this book or movie and say what’s so interesting about a boy and some animals stranded at sea on a boat. It has a very deep plot and theme to it. The movie gives you an insight on some different cultures including Hindu and Christianity too.
The whole plot was very easy to follow as he was telling a story to a journalist. Just seeing him stranded in the ocean with animals that would try to eat him and other animals is something many would think is impossible for someone to get through. He is later confronted by Japanese Ministry Of Transport Officials who tell him the story doesn’t sound realistic. He then gives them another story of the same subject but each animal was a person in the boat this being a cook, a sailor, his mother, and Pi. But the ministry of transport officials can’t decide which one is true because both are irrelevant to the shipwreck.
I would definitely recommend this movie for people to see. It was overall outstanding, interesting, and very touching. This movie will truly have anyone rethink about life after watching it.
