Freshman Farnaz Daneshvaran studies French language and culture overseas. She gets an opportunity to experience the French culture hands-on instead of learning it from books.
What makes you unique?
Over the summer I go to an international French camp to become more confident in speaking and learning the French language. My parents want me to understand, experience, and respect different cultures of the world.
Where is the French camp?
The camp is south of France, in a city called Nice.
What made you want to take French?
I love learning French because it is a beautiful language that is spoken in several different countries. My family and I travel to France annually, so French comes in good use. I also wanted to take it because when I am older, it would be a great place to live.
Do you speak any other languages besides French and English?
Yes, I speak Farsi. It’s my mother tongue. I can also understand some Italian but speaking it is a little more complicated for me.
