New AP Government teacher Lindsay Roseborough has experienced some interesting job experiences.
After college, Roseborough worked political campaigns. She has also worked in a conduct office at a college and taught at other high schools.
“I knew I was going to teach from a really little age,” said Roseborough.
After talking about her past life and jobs, Roseborough uttered a surprising statement.
“I worked at the White House.”
Roseborough worked for the Agency Liaison, which is an office under the Department of Presidential Correspondence. This office responds to those who need help with all sorts of problems.
“The White House responds to everything…I was very impressed with all that,” said Roseborough.
Some letters would ask the President for financial aid or ask for help with health care.
“Obviously, the president can’t help people in those areas,” said Roseborough.
Instead, Roseborough forwarded the letters to a department that could help such as the Department of Health and Human Services.
Roseborough obviously met some interesting people.
“Yup, I’ve met with a couple different people at the West Wing.”
She proceeded to talk about one particular morning when she and one other employee had arrived early at the Old Executive Office Building.
A little later, President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Ronald Rumsfeld, Chief of Staff Andrew Card, Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, and CIA Director George Tenet passed them in the hall, greeting Roseborough and her colleague.
“In a span of two seconds I said good morning to, and had it said to me, by some of the world’s biggest leaders.”
