Reston Association offers summer job opportunities for students
Over the summer there are opportunities for teenagers to do as jobs or internships. Reston Association offers jobs and internships for high school and college students as counselors for camps.
Reston Association offers the counselor-in-training internship for students under the age of 16 to be trained and work with campers in order to become a counselor in the future. For students 16 years of age and older, students may work as a counselor at their various camps. The camps include Nature Tots, Hug-A-Tree, Walker’s Rangers, Sportsters, Camp on Wheels, Day Camp, and Teen Camp.
“Working at the camp is an excellent leadership experience in which you get to spend time with kids and make a lot of friends,” sophomore Nina Haitz said. “My favorite part was working with the kids because they are always fun and have great energy.”
This year the camp is celebrating their 40 year anniversary. This will be represented on the yearly camp shirts.
“We offer great jobs that give you opportunities to work with kids,” camp admin Barb Beaver said. “Just ask some of our current counselors in training and staff, many were campers who wanted to share the same fun with other children.”
