Band to participate in festival
Band will travel to Wakefield High School for an annual festival which is set to take place all day on Saturday, March 15. School bands from across the county and district will participate in the competition. Seahawks are to face other bands in District 12.
Schools are assessed as an ensemble by a panel of 3 judges. The best possible score that can be achieved at the competition is a 1 and the worst possible score is a 5. Judges base scores on rhythm, sound, and musicality.
Seahawks are set to perform two songs for the competition, including Bullets and Bayonets and Blue Shades.
Rehearsals for the festival have taken place since November however, preparation has occurred almost every day within the past two weeks.
After the festival, band will prepare for the pyramid concert near the end of the year. Many members will also travel to Atlanta, Georgia for their spring trip March 21.
