There are a few stadiums in the MLB that every player loves to play at. Whether it be because of the atmosphere or the stadium itself some stand out above the rest. The fan and player experience at these stadiums are spectacular and elevate the experience. These are the ten best stadiums that demonstrate these qualities the most.
10 Yankees
This Stadium, while being an important cultural landmark in the city, is not good enough to be higher in the list. Weird dimensions on the field, most importantly the short fence in right field giving lefty hitters an advantage, knock down its score. The new stadium also does not have the same importance to the city as the old Yankee Stadium.
9 Phillies
This is just a very good stadium. There is nothing incredible, but the atmosphere is great, the layout of the outfield is great, and the bell in center field is gorgeous. It’s a very important landmark to the city with great history. However, it doesn’t have anything incredible.
8 DiamondBacks
This is a gorgeous venue. The pool in left center ads is very creative. It’s a pitcher’s ballpark with the far wall in center field. The roof is a great new addition to the stadium. However it just isn’t quite as good as the others on this list.
7 Rockies
Along with it just being a gorgeous venue, Coors Field is known for having the furthest homeruns. This is because the altitude of Denver decreases drag on the ball. The view from the bleachers is incredible. Unfortunately it’s been a while since we have seen Coors field in the playoffs, but it’s a beautiful field.
6 Royals
A team on the rise combined with an amazing stadium is always exciting. The giant outfield leads to an exciting play every night. The center field fountain added a statement piece to a great field. It’s a consistently underrated field but I think with a better team it will get noticed more.
5 Rangers
The roof on the stadium is great. There’s nothing in the stadium that I don’t like. It has one of the best grounds crews in the league. The dimensions of the outfield are great. It’s a slight hitters ballpark and the brick in the back of the stadium looks great.
4 San Diego
This is almost a perfect stadium. The western metal supply company building down the left field line is incredible. The thick air of San Diego helps pitchers make every game close. The sunset over the stadium gives great lighting to the field. Couldn’t ask for anything better.
3 Giants
The history of the park would get it in the top three all on its own. Barry Bonds records were all broken here. Mccovey Cove is one of the biggest landmarks in the league. Sentinel writer Quinn Connel said “It is an incredible atmosphere unlike almost anywhere else.” Definitely worthy of top 3.
2 Pirates
The bridge in the distance. The short porch in right field. The incredible skyline. And the beautiful river in the distance. This venue has great field dimensions. It has so much history. It’s one of the biggest landmarks of the city.
1 Red sox
This is far and away the greatest stadium in the league. The green monster in left field has some of the best seats in the world. Every player has only good things to say about Fenway Park. The patterned outfield is gorgeous. The pole down the left field line makes foul balls and homeruns seem to only work here.
