Shohei Ohtani, one of Baseball’s biggest stars, is joining the Dodgers Superteam seeking a championship.
The deal lasts for 10 years and worth $700,000,000, and it is by far the largest contract signed in Sports history, second being Lionel Messi’s 4-year/$674,000,000 deal in 2017. The contract has no opt-outs, and a large monetary majority of the money is deferred, so the Dodgers can sign other superstars to build an even stronger team.
Shohei is joining with other superstars such as Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Clayton Kershaw, and Walker Bheuler in LA. As these superstars look to make a title run. Last year, the Dodgers were embarrassed in the divisional round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, being eliminated in three games after being crowned the best team in the National League.
Shohei will return to Anaheim, the place that he called “home” for five-years, on September 3rd and 4th when the Dodgers play the Angels. This is a huge shake up in the MLB, as the Dodgers were already an amazing team.
Now, the Los Angeles Dodgers just became the juggernaut of baseball.
