Softball tryouts will take place Feb. 24-27.

Last season, varsity earned a 5-13 record while junior varsity had a 6-8 record.

Coaches will announce this year’s rosters Feb. 28 then hold a team meeting and practice.

Tryout times are not determined yet and the location is not finalized. Tryouts will either happen at the softball complex or the gym, if the weather is not favorable.  Students are required to wear softball or baseball pants and a South Lakes softball practice shirt or spirit shirt.  If the tryouts occur outside, students are to wear cold gear and sweats.

Attitude is reportedly taken into account during tryouts.  Coaches want players to be competitive, yet have integrity and be coachable.

In order to tryout, students must have multiple forms completed and turned into the Activities Office.  The following forms are required:

• Physical Examination Form VHSL – Must be dated May 1st, 2013 or later
• Emergency Care Form
• Extracurricular Participation Policy Form
• Parent Volunteer Information Form
• Concussion Education Online Verification Program for parents and student-athletes
