Cheerleaders to compete in District Finals, Oct. 23
Wednesday October 23, the varsity cheerleading team will compete in possibly the last competition of the season. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the competition will begin at 6:30 p.m. It is encouraged that spectators arrive at 5:30 p.m. wearing royal blue.
“We have been working hard and have changed a lot in the routine, but I feel good about it. It is up to the judges, so I hope they enjoy it,” senior cheerleader Debi McNamara said.
Last Wednesday, the cheer team placed fourth out of the eight teams in the Liberty conference, behind Fairfax, Langley, and McLean.
“We definitely have the skills that we need to place; we just need to bring lots of hype to show that we our heart into it,” junior cheerleader Angela Barrale said. “This is the competition we have been practicing for since August. It is so important to us.”
If the team places fourth or better at the competition, they will compete at Region Semifinals on Saturday October 26.
