The Liberty District Tournament for basketball began Feb. 14.
The boys faced off against Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday in the quarter-finals. The Seahawks lost 66-62.
Senior J.D. Wallace, who averages 14.6 points per game, led the team. Wallace was named to the first-team all Liberty District team.
Senior Jordan Francis also earned second-team district honors, and senior D.J. Christian was named to the all-defensive team.
The girls varsity team faced off against Langley on Tuesday in the quarter finals. The Lady Seahawks won 55-42.
Sophomore center Abigail Rendle led the team with 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
In the Liberty District Semi-finals against Marshall, the ladies won 61-43.
The team was again led by sophomore Abigail Rendle who achieved a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks.
Their next game is Friday, against Madison at 5:45 p.m. at home for the Liberty District Championship.
