Varsity girls basketball hosted the Annandale Atoms for its first scrimmage on Thursday, November 17.
After each quarter, the score was reset back to zero, but the team lost to the Annandale Atoms by a total of three points.
The scrimmage helped establish what parts of the team’s game needs improvement in time for the regular season, which starts November 29 against Westfield.
Sophomore guard Sasha Sprei thinks the scrimmage was helpful.
“It helped show us what we have been doing well and what we need to improve on,” said Sprei. “We definitely need to work on our defense.”’
Sophomore guard Caitlin Jensen agrees with Sprei.
“We didn’t play as well as we could have,” said Jensen. “But we can now learn from the mistakes we made.”
The team will face off against Edison High School and Elizabeth Seton High School in its final scrimmage on Monday, November 21.
The scrimmage will be played jamboree style, meaning two quarters will be played against Edison and another two will be versus Elizabeth Seton, an all-girls private school in Bladensburg, Maryland.
