Varsity volleyball lost to the Madison Warhawks 25-22, 25-22, 25-17 during the last home game of the season on October 25.
Posters and balloons were hung all around the gym in honor of the graduating seniors for senior night.
“I’m really proud of [the seniors],” said junior outside hitter Annemarie Bresson. “We had a fun time decorating the gym and I think they enjoyed [the decorations] a lot.”
Before the game started, all the seniors were escorted by friends and family and were appreciated for their commitment to the team.
This year, volleyball has four seniors on the varsity team: setter Elise Cross, middle hitter Sarah Delaney, opposite hitter and setter Christy Hoffman, and libero Ellie Huber. All four have played on varsity together since their sophomore year.
“Senior night was the most amazing night I’ve ever had,” said Huber. “This season has been the best and I love all my teammates.”
“Although we didn’t end up winning the game, we still gave our best effort and had a great game,” said Bresson. “I’m really proud of our seniors and I’m really going to miss them.”
In earlier action, the freshmen won both games, while JV lost two of the three games.
The next game is at McLean. Freshmen starts at 5 p.m., JV starts at 6 p.m., and varsity starts at 7:15 p.m.
