Every senior has been asked the ever popular question, “Where are you going to college?” Choosing a college for the first time is tough for even the most prepared student. There are no guarantees that the college you choose will be a good fit.
For me this decision has been incredibly hard and much more stressful then I had ever imagined. I have visited all of the school I have been accepted to and very carefully considered all of my options.
There are numerous factors that affect the college decision. Price, distance, academic quality, reputation, and environment are all important aspects that are considered during the college decision process.
Unless you find a school that perfectly fits all of your needs in each category making a decision is difficult. One school may fill some of your needs but not others.
For me that has been the biggest setback in making my decision. Every school I have visited had things that I loved and things that I hated. One school is too expensive, one is too far, one has a bad reputation, and one is not in an environment that I want to be in.
Do you go to a school that you love that is totally unaffordable or go to a school that you really do not like that is completely affordable? Those are the questions that I have been asking myself over and over again for the past three months.
College is an important time in your life so choosing a place where you will succeed is very important.
