Wowzers, I cannot wait for summer break.
Fourth quarter just serves to tick me off. At this point, my mind has taken up the “who cares” status and the SAT is all that is left. So why must we drag this disaster on any longer?
Maybe I am suffering prematurely from the infamous Senioritis disease. On evenings after school I just sit and stare at the computer screen wondering what it thinks of me.
It is probably thoroughly tired of me since I spend eons of time pressing its buttons.
What I am actually suffering from, though, is a serious condition called “apathy” that many students experience at the conclusion of a school year. It should not be overlooked as something not worth addressing.
We all feel exhaustion with the school year.
Now, some do not feel all the piercing pains, but others very much struggle to focus and continue on when the end is so near.
Hence, count this as a word of encouragement. My pessimistic tendencies have subsided temporarily. The light is at the end of the tunnel. We are almost at the end.
We must not become nonchalant just because the year is ending. We should push hard all the way until the end so on that day when the bell rings to end the school year, we can all rise and say with pride, “Well done young grasshopper, well done.”
