“Ask questions and get to know people in a new way.”
This is Formspring’s idea of a slogan. I already feel violated.
To provide a little bit of background information, formspring.me is a website that was created with the intent to allow discussion through the art of anonymous question-asking. Okay, so right away we have a red flag.
If you tell any teenager that they can post an anonymous comment or question on another’s public page, you are just begging for trouble.
Needless to say, Formspring has caused nothing but trouble.
It is actually responsible for more than a few suicides, which is a few more than it should be responsible for, from young adults who suffered from constant abuse via the site.
That is absolutely atrocious.
So, to all you disgusting bullies out there: who gave you the right to say such awful things? Because I have seen first hand some of the things people are saying out there and I sure hope you do not kiss your mother with that mouth…
If you really want to ask someone a question, stop hiding behind your computer screen and go ask them. Because let us be honest here, if you are too chicken to say it to the person’s face, it does not need to be said.
My kindergarten teacher always said, treat others as you would like to be treated.
That is the Golden Rule my friends.
Do you see that capitalization? That is because those words are as important as the air we breathe—the way our world goes round.
It is what keeps society sane.
