For many, navigating the halls of the school can be a challenge. I would call the halls very crowded. I often find it a struggle to get from class to class. The sub-schools are too crowded and the main hallways tend to have people going in opposite directions on the same side of the hall. Though there is no main culprit for the congestion of the halls, there are infinite numbers of problems that cause the massive congestion of the hallways here.
Among the many problems that cause the congestion, we have a massive student body, lockers in inconvenient positions, and people acting rowdy in the halls. There is nothing we can do about the large number of students who walk the halls here at South Lakes, but the behavior in the halls can be improved. In addition to not standing around in the intersections between two major hallways and not running and jumping all over each other when in the halls, students could stand off to the sides of the halls leaving the middle open for traffic.
The lockers are an issue that cannot be solved in any way without changing the layout of the school. The sub-school locker pods, while a very convenient way to keep track of and manage the student body, poses a slight problem when dealing with the hallways. Because so many students have to pass near their sub-schools to get essential items from their lockers, they cause a massive buildup in the sub-schools, thus blocking passage for many people.
The best way to solve the congestion problem would be to use back routes when the option presents itself rather than going through the main halls. Also, better hallway behavior will also solve the problem, and not stopping to talk will make the halls flow better and make passing from class to class infinitely easier.

We have the exact same problem at Rachel Carson Middle School! I sympathize. So me, one of my friends, and two other classmates are making a protest to this, and we have a solution that we are going to bring to the school administration if we can. Our solution is to pass a rule to stop people from loitering in the hallways. If you find that your classmates are impossible to calm down, feel free to try to use ours.
