A frozen custard chain is moving to Reston’s South Lakes Shopping Center. Meadows Frozen Custard is relocating their Ashburn location after its closure in December of 2024.
A Facebook post from the business on December 9th revealed they would be closing their Ashburn location and would be moving to Reston. The Reston location is scheduled to open Spring of 2025. Information on exact dates for the opening haven’t been released. The Meadows’ website has not been updated and still lists the Ashburn location.
Meadows has a total of 28 locations across the United States, including two in Virginia. They offer both frozen custard and frozen yogurt as well as shakes, sundaes, cakes, and other frozen desserts.
Information on the relocation has been limited, but the news on the move to Reston was well received in local groups on social media.
On Reston’s subreddit, people have shared their opinions.
“Super excited for this! Great addition to South Lakes,” user Dte324 wrote.
“This location is prime for an ice cream shop,” xseanprimex added.
On a Facebook group called Reston Va Foodies, people discussed the relocation.
“This area has so many walkers and nearby condos that it should do well,” Jules Zen said.
“I can walk there. I have a feeling I’ll visit fairly regularly,” April Yeager commented.
Reston locals are looking forward to Meadows Frozen Custard’s move to Reston’s South Lakes Shopping Center this spring, being a new sweet treat for customers in a prime location.
