Two big scary fall attractions that are currently available this season are Fields of Fear and Kings Dominion Halloween Haunt. Fields of Fear, located at Cox Farms in Centerville, Virginia, has 4 main attractions. The attractions include the Dark Side Hayride, the Firegrounds, Cornnightmare, and The Forest: Back 40. There are also non-scary things to do at Cox Farms Fields of Fear, like a market, a music area, and many places to order delicious fall foods. The fun festive foods are pumpkin or powdered donuts, kettle corn, root beer, nachos, and apple cider.
The Cox Farms website has tickets available for Fields of Fear. The tickets can be purchased online or at the farm voucher. Tickets are required for everyone above the age of 2 and visitors that are under the age of 14 must have an adult chaperone. Fields of fear is not recommended for kids under the age of 12. However, it is a great spot for teenagers to visit.
“I enjoy the thrill of being scared and being able to bond with my friends,” Junior Kelsey Birkland said when asked how she feels about Fields of Fear.
The Fear Deluxe admission includes access to the Firegrounds and only one entry to the Dark Hayride, Cornnightmare, and The Forest: Back 40. The regular, peak, or value ticket gives pricing options on Fear Deluxe tickets to allow visitors to save on admissions by planning their visit for a non-peak time. The Firegrounds only ticket allows access to the fairgrounds but not any of the other haunted attractions. When purchasing a ticket at the farm, the haunted attractions will have times for entry assigned to the buyer. Purchasing online tickets means there will not be an assigned time for the buyer to go to the haunted attractions. Depending on the night, the attraction’s time could vary between 7:15 pm to 11:30pm. Fields of fear will be running from September 27 to November 2.
The Kings Dominions Halloween Haunt, located in Richmond, Virginia, has many attractions. There are roller coasters, mazes, scare zones, and live shows. There is even an option to stay overnight for a Halloween get away. The Halloween additions started on September 20 and will end October 31st. The Trick and Treats addition is a family friendly event that has fun arts and crafts, festive food, and live entertainment. The next addition, Halloween Haunts is where monsters come out for screams, with live events, and many horrific mazes. Oktoberfest is the last addition where people can experience authentic German food, beverages, and music while going on rides and doing activities. Fridays include Halloween Haunts from 6pm to 12am. Saturdays and Sundays include Tricks and Treats from 11am to 5pm, then Halloween Haunt from 7pm to 12pm, and Oktoberfest is 12pm to 6pm.
