Apple unveiled not only the iPhone 16, but its entire 2025 lineup during the Apple “glow time” event. This includes the iPhone 16, new apple watches such as the Series 10 and the Ultra 2, the higher and lower end Airpods 4, and a completely recreated color set for the Airpod Maxs. With all these new additions to Apple’s already top-of-the-line and large emporium, what can you expect out of the new iPhone?
iPhone 16
As the iPhone 16 series neared its anticipated release, expectations continued to rise. Over recent years Apple has created a standard release for their iPhones that includes the base model, the plus model, the pro model, and the pro max model. The base iPhone 16 is both the flagship model as well as the most affordable option. It’s the best entry-level option and packed with features like a 6.1 inch OLED display, an improved
2-in-1 48 mega pixel camera system capable of taking beautiful pictures, up to 33 hours of video playback on one charge, and the star of the show, the new A18 bionic chip. The new and improved Apple processor allows for game changing upgrades to the standard iPhone, such as Apple Intelligence, which practically turns an iPhone into Tony Stark’s cyber assistant, Jarvis.
Apple claims that their Apple Intelligence can “understand and create languages and images, take action across apps, and draw for personal context to simplify and accelerate everyday tasks.”
iPhone 16 plus
For those who prefer a larger screen and battery without jumping all the way to the pro models, the iPhone 16 plus is for you. For its display, the iPhone 16 Plus features an 6.7 inch OLED display providing a larger canvas for social media use, and an incredible gaming experience due to the A18 bionic chip. With the larger screen, comes a larger battery. The iPhone 16 features 27 hours of playback, five more hours than the base model. The camera system is the same as the base model but may include potential software enhancements due to the larger screen format.
iPhone 16 Pro
The iPhone 16 Pro is where the real innovation is displayed. With this year’s Pro lineup, users should expect cutting edge features, higher quality materials, and superior performance. The iPhone 16 Pro features a 6.1 inch ProMotion OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for extremely smooth scrolling and more responsive touch controls.
The 16 Pro is powered by the A18 Pro chip, which is even better than the already jaw-dropping A18. This chip will give the phone even more power, efficiency, and performance for all needs. The Pro models are extremely durable as well due to the titanium frame, allowing for a lightweight, sturdy structure.
iPhone 16 Pro Max
The iPhone 16 Pro takes most of its features from the normal pro, but some things definitely stand out. Its sleek, titanium design allows for both an ultra-premium, yet surprisingly lightweight feel, even with a massive 6.9 inch display. The display features a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate that makes everything from gaming to social media scrolling feel completely smooth. The battery life is a slight upgrade from the iPhone 16 Pro coming at 4685 mAh. Even with intense use, the A18 bionic chip really allows the phone to fly, handling multi-tasking and high performance tasks without breaking a sweat. The camera system is the same as the iPhone 16 Pro, though amazing in most situations, sometimes feels like it’s trying too hard with post processing, especially in night shots when some details feel too artificial. Unfortunately, this is not a good phone if stored in a pant pocket due to its huge size, but overall it’s a fantastic iPhone that can do anything you need it to.
Overall, because of the new A18 Bionic chip as well as Apple Intelligence, this year’s lineup of iPhones are a worthwhile upgrade from any previous phone, especially iPhones 13 and below.
