From cars able to climb mountains to cars looking out of the year 3000, the Detroit Auto Show is the best place to discover the newest designs and concepts of upcoming vehicles. These new concepts have the potential to forever change the landscape of the automotive industry.
The first mind-blowing car shown was the Lincoln L-100. The Lincoln L-100 is Lincoln’s 100 year anniversary celebration. The L-100 concept was designed to show how far cars have come from the original 1922 Model L car. Lincoln aims to make the next century of automotives to have a stylish, zero-emission, and technology-led design. The car doesn’t feature a steering wheel but opts for an autonomous driving system where you use a computer mouse like controller to set a driving path and destination on a virtual map of the area. The Lincoln L-100 aims to push the boundaries of self-driving cars and make the ultimate driving experience. The Lincoln L-100 is currently not for sale, but may become available in later years when the concept is fully developed.
The next amazing car of the show was the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor. The Ford Bronco Raptor is Ford’s newest off-road vehicle able to withstand extremely rocky terrain and climb steep inclines. The Bronco was shown to be able to easily climb a mountain with an incline of 40 degrees and this may only be scratching the surface of its potential. The Bronco was released earlier this year on March 27th, 2023. It features a 418 horsepower 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine with 440 lb.-ft. of torque. It also has 37 inch all-terrain tires including 17 inch wheels. This car has a starting price of $86,580 but more options are available for a higher price.
The next stunning car of the show was the prestigious 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato. This car adds to the ever growing Huracán collection and was released back in February of this year. It is a very limited-edition car with supposedly only 1,499 units sold. This car features a 5.2L V10 engine with a maximum of 413 lb.-ft of torque. This car goes 0-62 mph in approximately 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 161.5 mph. Its aerodynamic design ensures the engine gets clean air to cool down and makes the driving experience the most optimal possible. The Lamborghini Hurácan Sterrato starts at a price of $273,177 but more features, like special headlights, can be added on for a higher cost.
Many more cars are featured at the Detroit Auto Show from brands like Honda, Nissan, and Ford, but these ones featured are definitely the most intriguing of the bunch. The next show is scheduled for some time in September 2024, so be sure to check it out then.
