- After successfully reopening to phase one, Governor Northam stated that he is now slowing Northern Virginia’s transition into phase two.
- Northern Virginia begins phase two on June 12, 2020.

- Governor Northam announced that only certain students and schools will be fully returning in the fall of 2020.
- A Virginia State Trooper resigned after texts exposed that he intentionally coughed on someone to spread the virus.
- Virginia was not one of the 14 states to experience a spike, but numbers continue to climb.
- Virginia has now seen a total 51,251 cases.
