Painting stolen from the Reston Community Center
A painting was stolen from an exhibition at the Reston Community Center. The Fairfax County Police issued their annual report recognizing the art theft in the Reston District Station section.
The annual report states, “Unfortunately, the Reston Community Center became a target when a painting was stolen from a local exhibition. Recognizing the impact this act had on our community, detectives assigned to the Reston District sprang into action. The appropriately coined Operation Picasso consisted of a team whose diligence lead [sic] to the successful recovery and return of this precious piece of artwork.”
Fortunately, the painting is back into safe hands and another exhibition, the Reston Photographic Society Exhibit, will be held on Saturday June 1.
