Reston Community Center reaches out to students after recent vandalism

Students invited to free party Saturday night

Seahawks are invited to a “Back to School” party at the Reston Community Center in Hunters Woods Shopping Center Saturday, September 28 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The event, which will feature a live DJ, a hype man, and pizza, is free for South Lakes students in light of recent events.

“We here at the Reston Community Center truly believe that they deserve accolades for keeping it classy and responding maturely after the Senior Wall was vandalized,” Reston Community Center Director of Teen Programs Kenny Burrowes said. “As a sign of our appreciation for the positivity displayed this week, we are waiving the six dollar cover charge for any SLHS student with a valid school ID.”

Burrowes is happy to show his support for the school.

“Personally, I am proud of the video that was made for the game, and even more impressed on how the students at South Lakes responded with style and class,” Burrowes said. “This is the least we could do for our home team.”
