The South Lakes IB Pyramid Art show will open Thursday, April 19 in the lecture hall and gallery. Faculty can attend during the day, while Seahawks and community members can view the art that evening from 6-8 p.m. MYP project displays will go up that same night in the cafeteria.
“I think the work is awesome. I think a lot of students are very technically and intellectually skilled,” said IB Art teacher Veronica Irerra.
Larger work will be displayed in the gallery across from the main office.
“I think it’s good to be in the gallery because the lecture hall is so crowded this year that people with big art wouldn’t have room to display it,” said senior Betina Van Meter.
Senior Lucy Yen’s work is posted around the school on the exhibit announcement.
“It was kind of weird seeing my face all over the school since the piece is a self portrait,” said Yen. “I’m a little nervous because my work is the first people will see when they walk through the door, but I’m also proud of what I’ve done.”
