Girls Learn International, also known as GLI, will hold a fundraiser to help spread awareness for human rights and raise money for their partner school in India.
“It will be based off of the Indian festival of colors called Holi, where people throw colors at each other,” said GLI president Annie Passan.
The fundraiser will most likely take place at Lake Fairfax, during the first or second weekend in June. Tickets will be around $13 and the cost will include a t-shirt to avoid ruining clothes. Tickets must be pre-ordered.
There will be plenty of booths during this event, including stalls serving food, drawing henna, and other activities.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own water guns to make the experience even more exciting.
The money raised during this event will benefit GLI’s partner school in New Delhi, India. GLI does different events to help raise awareness for human rights, especially for women around the world.
