South Lakes choral department will put on their annual cabaret show this Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. in the Little Theater.
“Most schools do something like this but they don’t have a specific theme,” said senior Alex Humphries. “It’s exciting to have the theme of Growing Up on Broadway because the audience can kind of go with the theme and it’s like a story within the performances. We have songs like ‘Ohmigod You Guys’ and ‘Mama I’m a Big Girl Now’ which show the growth of the characters especially teenagers. ”
Since early November students of all ages have been working after school going over their music and learning choreography for all of their performances.
“I really think this year everyone has been working very hard both on and off stage,” said senior director Vicky Howard. “We are going to have a great show. We have some younger guest performers from middle school that are very talented and very so excited to perform on the big stage with high school students. I encourage everyone to come out and see the show it will be super entertaining.”
Tickets sell online $8 for students and $15 for adults or $40 for a family pack.
