South Lakes competed on “Its Academic” against Montgomery Blair High school and National Cathedral School on Dec. 22.
“Its Academic” airs Saturday mornings on NBC4. It is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest running quiz show in the world. Students from various high schools compete with other students from schools across the region.
The quiz questions asked consist of trivial topics relevant to today’s world.
South Lakes finished second.

“I think we did very well, especially considering who we were up against,” said It’s Academic sponsor librarian and Linda Frantz.
Their season will conclude after their regional and district competition on Jan. 21.
