Jenna Anderson has been playing soccer for around 13 years and is the only senior playing on this year’s soccer team.

When/how did you start playing soccer?
I started playing soccer when I was five on a small PV team. I just continued playing from there. I started loving the game.

Who are your inspirations in soccer or some people you look up to?
I definitely look up to Mia Hamm, Alex Morgan, and other women on the U.S. national team. They’re really inspiring because they worked so hard to get where they are.

What are your favorite soccer teams?
I always root for home teams, the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams and D.C. United, but I also like Chelsea and Manchester United.

What does it feel like to be the only senior on the team?
I was the only junior last year so it was kind of expected, but I think it puts a lot of responsibility on me to be a leader, step up and try to help develop the team and share my experiences with the younger kids. Some other seniors tried out too, but unfortunately they didn’t get picked.
