Senior Jeffry Liu plans to become a pilot and will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in order to carry out his dreams.
When you were young, whom did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be like my grandpa because he was a pilot, but not just an ordinary pilot. He is considered one of the greatest pilots in the world. He was a dogfighter and pilot coach of China’s most elite dog fighting team called the Flying Tigers. Through high status in flight, he created an airline that linked Taiwan to America called EVA Airways, which explains how my family got here. Another motivation to fly comes from hating being looked down at. No one likes being looked down at. So I thought one day if I flew that I could look down at the world instead of the world looking down at me.
Where do you plan to go to school to become a pilot?
I plan to go to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. My campus will be located down in Florida at Daytona Beach. It is Americas top flight school. You can go there to get your business degree and a piloting license at the same time, which is the perfect opportunity for me.
What do you want to do with your piloting license (beside just fly)?
I want to work international because I could utilize my skills by speaking Japanese, Chinese, and English. I want to be able to fly around the world and do business. So I can be flexible in all areas.
