Freshman Kaitlyn Gallagher joined the indoor track team. She mainly runs the short sprints.
What got you to join track?
The main reason why I joined track would probably be because I want to stay in shape for soccer. Also, a lot of my friends were going to do track and I wanted to join along with them.
Do you enjoy doing indoor track and why?
I do enjoy it because I like to run. Indoor track is fun and keeps me healthy. I also enjoy the actual meets because I get to see other people and learn something out of it. I especially like it when I surpass my previous records when I run.
What’s your thought on coming to practice almost every day?
It’s definitely a new experience, having to stay after school and practicing every day. I don’t mind it, but there are days when I am very tired that I don’t want to come out. I believe that once you’re committed to a sport, you should come out to every meets and practices. But I think you should be able to get a day off to catch up on school work and to get some rest when sick.
What’s your goal?
My goal is to get under a 29 sec. split time in the 4 by 2 hundred. I’m glad I joined indoor track because it helps me reach my goal by practicing every day with friends and coach.
