Hypnosis is a state of consciousness where a person responds more willingly to suggestions.
Every year hypnotist Jason Linett comes to South Lakes to perform his comedy hypnosis show. He picks volunteers from the audience that want to be hypnotized, and this year I was one of them.
I have previously been hypnotized twice before Linett came to South Lakes this year. I knew what I was getting into when volunteers were asked to come up on stage.
As he started talking I began to feel very relaxed despite the fact that I was sitting in a chair on stage under stage lights.
Suddenly I felt extremely calm and relaxed.
He began giving us different simple commands, such as leaning on the person next to you or putting out your hands.
I felt myself do so with ease.
He then proceeded to give us different scenarios. In one he told us we were watching a very sad movie and I actually began crying.
In one scenario he told me that my sixth finger was missing and came back to me later asking me to count my fingers. I was so confused.
After he sent us back to our seats and ‘snapped’ us out of hypnosis, I was incredibly confused and relaxed.
I could remember everything afterwards but in a slight blur.
I recommend getting hypnotized highly. It was a very fun experience.
