Niki’s Guide: do homework with friends
Students can benefit from doing homework with friends or at school. Teachers and friends can assist students in staying focused and with answering questions the student may have.
Be sure to pick a friend that will not contribute to distraction, but rather eliminate it. The goal, to establish a social pressure to stay on task, can only be achieved if both the student and the friend wish to stay focused throughout the homework session.
Most students have a strength in a certain subject. Attempt to work with a friend that has the opposite strength. This way, individuals can assist each other in their area of strengths.
Not only does turning homework into a social activity help with focus, but also gives the process a more positive light, thus eliminating stress.
Homework does not have to be horrible. There are ways to make that aspect of school a more entertaining or meaningful one.
